The homeschooling journey is filled with infinite challenges and rewards, and it can be hard when you feel like you’re doing it without much guidance or help.
Know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
Now more than ever, parents across America are taking control of their children’s education, and the COVID pandemic has empowered millions of families to make the decision to homeschool their kids.
Whether you are new to homeschooling or you have done it for years, there are some days (some = LOTS) when it gets overwhelming, and there’s a tendency for us to expect perfection from ourselves.
Perfection is not required to be a great parent and teacher—Love is, and nobody can provide that for your children like you can.
You want to be the best teacher and parent you can, which is wonderful! While you (and everyone else) may never be perfect, you maybe need guidance and encouragement as you homeschool your children.
To help homeschooling parents, whether you’re brand new or a seasoned veteran, we’ve put together a list of some fantastic homeschooling podcasts to encourage, empower, and guide you on your journey.
These are in no particular order, and they come highly recommended by homeschoolers across the country. Enjoy!
If you want to homeschool strong to the finish and look back on your school days with joy, connect with me here for weekly inspiration, practical tips, and encouragement.

I promise you won’t feel discouraged or weighed down with guilt after listening. Instead you’ll laugh, be renewed, and know that you’re not alone in your struggle to homeschool your kids.

Cait and Kara are two homeschooling moms doing this homeschooling thing out right beside you. On this podcast, we talk about real life homeschooling, books, caffeine addiction and surviving and thriving through these wonderful years.
We don’t have it all figured out, but one thing we know for sure is that homeschooling is a lot easier when you have a sister by your side.
So grab a cup of coffee or tea and let’s hang out … Do people still say that?

We’re Maren and Angela, the creators and hosts of the Homeschool Unrefined podcast. We’ve been friends for more than 20 years. We’ve survived a lot of Minnesota winters together, as well as college and grad school, full-time teaching, giving birth within days of each other (twice), and now life as homeschoolers and podcasters.
Homeschool Unrefined started when we began to ask each other “What if…?”.
- What if we could encourage parents to take more off their plates?
- What if homeschool could be less about our lesson plans and more about a love of learning?
- What if we could get away with doing less school work and spend more time playing, adventuring, and building lifelong relationships with our kids?
- What if we could homeschool from our own strengths instead of someone else’s?
- What if homeschool could be simple, real, and fun?
Those “What ifs” have become the ideas and conversations we’ve been sharing on our podcast every week since 2016.
Along the way, we’ve interviewed some of our own homeschool role models and had honest, down-to-earth conversations with real-life homeschool parents, too. We’ve chatted about our favorite books, dealing with doubts, and getting into nature. We’ve confessed our biggest mistakes and proudly admitted all the things we DON’T do. And we’ve laughed a whole lot along the way.
So are you ready for a homeschool experience you can enjoy? One with less stress and more fun? Are you ready to think differently about homeschool? Grab a cup of tea, kick your kids out of the comfy chair, pop in your earbuds, and join us!

We decided to try homeschooling because we were traveling. It seemed the right fit.
I had worked in private education for over 7 years and I thought, how hard could it be? ( I still shake my head at that) At first I tried to just duplicate school at home.
Scheduled class time, alarms for bells. But as I came to know my children better, as well as myself, our home schooling began to evolve.
It was the many experiences of life and travel that changed our idea of learning. I started to let go and allowed their natural curiosity to shine. Our education has become an eclectic mix of many styles, mainly unschooling.
Through our many travels one thing became very clear to our family. The need for community. The need to exchange information and ideas, the need to learn from others, the need to be inspired, the need to connect.
This was the start of Honey! I ’m Homeschooling the Kids. A place to hear from others on similar journeys following their passions. A chance to learn from experts in the fields of education, learning and parenting. A place to be inspired, encouraged, build community and connect.
My mission is to strengthen, empower, and equip Christian homemakers, homeschoolers, and stay-at-home moms to:
1.) IGNITE their faith in God
2.) INVEST in themselves and
3.) IMPACT their home, positively.
I help “moms-at-home” focus on their personal growth and joyfully pursue a God-centered, hope-filled life that maximizes their potential, builds their confidence, and creates an authentic home experience for their family.
So whether you are struggling to make the most out of a mess or to be a good steward of a blessed life, it’s time we all intentionally pursue a personal growth plan to become the “at-home” mom God meant for us to be.
